Learning about plants and birds

This week we continued our study of plants, their parts and what they needed to grow.

We also have been studying about birds and identifying them by their specific songs and unique coloring/

Ahh, Spring!

Before vacation we started cleaning up a section of the woods for a special forest play area.  In this place we will be exploring nature through many of our senses.  Stay tuned for what we discover.  Birds and plants will be our focus for the next month.

What a difference a week makes.  Students have been observing multiple signs of spring and are excited about sharing them.  Outside play has been very engaging.

We just wanted to give you 2 important dates in May to mark on your calendars.

Thursday, May 11th there will be no preK for present students as we are having our screening for incoming new children.  Community Connections will be operating.  Please contact them if you are interested in having your child attend on that day.

Wednesday, May 31st will be our PreK family night celebration from 5:30 to 7PM.  We will have a little concert, dinner and slide show.

April Fools

Every day in April seems to surprise and fool us.  While we are noticing signs of spring at one moment, we are putting on our snow gear to brace for the elements.

It was great meeting with all of you at conference time and we appreciate your input and support.

Conferences are coming!

We look forward to meeting with each of you to share your child's progress.  We plan to stay on schedule so please help us by arriving promptly.

Spring break is upon us.  There will be no school the week of April 17th-21st.

PreK screening for incoming students will take place on Thursday, May 11th so there will be no school for our students that morning.  Please check with Community Connections if your child will attend that morning.

This month Kellogg-Hubbard Library children's librarian visited our students here and got to take home a free book and did a fun project.

Please continue to send boots and snow-pants until the snow has left us.

Students were excited to see their friends after vacation and snow days and get back into our routine.

Please note that the original PreK screening dates in April are incorrect and there will be one in early May.  If  your child is already attending our program and will be in PreK next year there is no need to attend.
