This Wednesday at 5:00 is our family fun hour at the Peck Farm on Sibley Road in East Montpelier.  We hope you can all make it.

Settling into Preschool

   We would like to welcome Brooke Houghton, a U32 student, who will be volunteering in our class on Mondays. Brooke worked at the EMES summer school so she is familiar with our school.
  We continue learning about ourselves. This week we we read stories about sharing and feelings and talked about how we can care for each other. We also learned a song about body parts called Mat Man. The children help each other build a man using wooden pieces while singing the Mat Man song. The wooden pieces are called big lines, little lines, big curves and little curves. These pieces can also be used to make all the letters of the alphabet. Then the children tried to make their own Mat Man with paper and pencils.
We also had time to explore the outdoor classroom in the woods. We found worms, beetles, ants, fungus, mushrooms and ferns.some of the children worked together to make a house with sticks and leaves. The children have also been finding frogs in the sandbox.

First Days of PreK

We had a great start to PreK.  The children are learning each other's names and checking out the different areas of the classroom.  Playdough, kinetic sand and finger painting have been big hits as well as playing on the playground.  We also like the dramatic play areas as well as the sensory table.
